How It Started

Adam grew up visiting his grandmother in Cairo on the banks of the Nile river. Her kitchen became the playful grounds in which fermentation and pickling were first introduced. A meal was not served without the presence of many pickled and fermented side dishes. Recipes with elaborate techniques were not only traditional but the source of daily joy that strengthened multigenerational connections.

I, Yiyi, come from a lineage of matriarchal curanderas who used herbalism, massage, midwifery and divination as pathways for healing. My grandmother’s use of remedios (herbal remedies) inspired a way of living for us. She taught us that the innate desire & effort made to provide help & healing enchants all that you do. Anything and all can be a remedio.

Using these kinds of therapies is natural to us and sharing the inherited knowledge of traditional methodologies is a practice for the future.

This purpose drives our process and it is what we are offering here to you.

We are a small family-owned brewery specializing in fermented and functional beverages like kombucha and kombucha vinegar. We also offer other spirited and therapeutic creations. We believe in bringing valuable and supportive offerings to our local and greater community and feel strongly about using our voice and platform to uplift social and cultural movement.

Our offerings are influenced by our home traditions from a combined Mexican and Egyptian ancestry. All of our formulations start with a desire to provide wholesome support in the form of a tonic experience.

We raise a virtual glass of kombucha to you all. Thank you for helping us share what we do.

Love,

The Yesfolk Family
